Teacher Inspiration

Everyone can remember a teacher who made a difference in his or her life. For me it was my calculus teacher Mr. Lenard. When I was ready to give up, complaining about a math problem that was so complicated that it took me all night long to figure out, he put things into perspective. Yes, calculus can be difficult, he would say. But in the future, you will be paid well for solving such problems. That inspired me to become a math expert in school, leading to a college scholarship and a math degree. Ironically, I never used my math skills, instead choosing a path in marketing. However, the lesson I learned from my teacher was that hard work pays off.

May 3 is National Teacher Appreciation Day. And Marco’s Pizza is celebrating by recognizing teachers across the country with free pizzas. Marco’s also wants others to share their stories about a teacher that inspired them. In addition, we want to know what inspires teachers about teaching. Teachers can tells us by completing this form. And for their feedback, they will have a chance to win a pizza party for their class, as well as the grand prize — a weekend trip for two to THE BIG APPPLE, or $2,500 in Apple products.
